Drain work starts in the basement

February 21st, 2009 · 2 Comments

Today the guys from Absolute Draining & Plumbing came to begin our basement work.

They focused first on running the new water line in from the property line. Unfortunately they couldn’t tie it in yet because the city side has a valve issue that needs to be fixed. The city thinks they can come back on Wednesday to fix that. But we now have a 3/4 line coming into the house which is great. Once the city makes the fix it can be hooked up and we’re ready to go.

In addition they began to dig up the drain in the basement. As we mentioned in a previous post not only are they adding new drains for the new basement washroom but also replacing the entire drain line to ensure that it’s solid before we finish the basement.

In order to make sure the crew had all of the access they needed, Ben and Glen (another friend) completely demolished the room where the bathroom will be in the basement. It’s now a blank slate!

Here’s the downstairs washroom as it sits now:

Oh I remember these days! Can’t wait until our basement is finished so I can show you the photos!

P.s. love your tile choices for the bathrooms. :)
