We’re excited about the built-in bookshelves and how they are looking. Ben did a great job tying in the trim and the baseboards. Now we have to tape and mud the drywall and paint the entire unit. We’ll do all of the bookshelves in white trim colour and the continue the smokey taupe on the bulk head (and the small bit of drywall on the sides). We plan on filling in all of the holes on the bookshelves (that come standard as a way to raise and lower the shelves) and make it all look seamless.

The bookcases look great - I wish your friend Ben could come to my house to help out.
My experience with the Billy bookcases has been that if you load them up with books, the shelves start to bow relatively quickly. you may want to space out your weightier tomes.

Hi Zora
Thanks so much for the advice. We’ll definitely follow your guidance since they’re in there to stay!
