We’ve finally finished all of the finishing touches in the new media room / den. We’re thrilled to have that project done and crossed off the to-do list. As a reminder here are some photos of the room before we demo’d it and rebuilt (it was the old second floor kitchen for the upstairs apartment):

Here’s what it looks like now. We’ve gone with smokey taupe on the walls and high baseboards (as we used on the main floor). We also wired the room for surround sound (front speakers in the wall, back speakers in the ceiling):

though I think I would have left the door (or picked out a nicer one) and just put a railing across, for that ‘outdoors indoors’ feel.
