This year will be our first holiday season in the new house. We’re going to host Christmas gatherings for both of our families so Anke was excited about decorating the new living room. We purchased a 10 foot tree (we had to trim a bit off the top) and had fun making it look festive.

I see you still haven’t made a decision with what to do with the fireplace.
We are in the exact same situation, and in fact, have the exact same fireplace!

yes- things are at a stand still with the fireplace! we’re going to leave it until such time that we can afford to do what we’d like ie. create a new surround in white and then use slate or marble on the inlay and floor. too many other priorities right now…
