Lighting in our front foyer

September 17th, 2008 · 7 Comments

We found this light fixture at Hardware on Queen St. West a few weeks ago. They had it hanging over their front door and we thought it would look great in our foyer. It’s simple yet elegant. Hardware has some interesting lighting- they bring in limited amounts of glass that they then retrofit into lighting- quite unique. It takes a few weeks to have them wire it but it was worth the wait. I next have my eye on some of their walnut pieces… I have a slab headboard for our bedroom in mind!

Beautiful! Also love the closet doors! Where did you pick up those beauties?

We had them special ordered from Central Fairbank. They’re a modern 3 panel “shaker” design. The orginal doors throughout the 2nd and 3rd floors are a 6 panel shaker style so we thought this update would tie in nicely.

Our front door is original to the house- we just painted it black. Have you checked out the Door Store here in Toronto?

I also think that we have several 6 panel shaker doors in our basement from the reno of the first floor. How many do you need?

I’ve been meaning to go to The Door Store, haven’t gotten around to it yet. I have called them in the past about the shaker doors and they haven’t had any.

I need two doors, 30″ and 24′ inches wide. If you don’t plan to use yours, I’d be glad to take them off your hands. Let me know and we can work something out.
