Cedar update and the first steak on the bbq

June 6th, 2008 · 6 Comments

We received some bad news today. The cedar that we’d been expecting (1×4x14) to finish the walls and the planter box has been delayed by two weeks. Oh well not the end of the world but disappointing nonetheless. Ben and I were going to put it up tomorrow but we’ll have to wait. It just would have been nice to have it finished.

On another note, we celebrated the new bbq by having a beautiful steak dinner last weekend. I thought I’d post a photo of the ribeye. Ah the things guys love…

Beautiful cut of steak

    Nice steak!

Enjoy that natural gas BBQ.. it’s one of the small things that I’m looking forward to when our house is done.

Thanks Katherine. The price to run the gas line was expensive but it was worth every penny as we are really enjoying it. Good luck with your reno!

    Hi S&N

We took a look at your blog and loved it. We’d be happy to play along and will answer this weekend. We’ll also post some updates since we’ve been negligent in that area! Cheers.

That is one great looking steak. It looks like it could feed at least 2 people. How did you end up cooking it ?

We cooked it on the bbq with just a little bit of salt and cracked pepper. It certainly did feed 2 (with some for our three year old son as well).
