We need to decide on which countertops we will be going with as they are coming to template our kitchen on Monday and we’re still undecided as to which material to go with! (Ok, I should clarify that I’m the one who is undecided- Kirk definitely wants the Caesarstone). I’ve been absolutely obsessing about it. I am in love with Carrera Marble but have been warned that it’s very sensitive and needs to be treated/ sealed often. I feel like I’ve read a million blogs and articles on the pro’s and con’s. Those who are passionate about marble do not mind the upkeep and feel that the way it weathers just adds character. It’s been used for hundreds of years in Europe and I have to agree that I like the patina.
Caesarstone in contrast is a new quartz composite that is scratch, stain and heat resistant and comes in a array of colours and styles to choose from. Stress free when dealing with potential grape juice spills etc. We like the Stone Gray colour- it has texture and works well with our Carrera Marble 3×8 subway tiles for our backsplash.

Hi, have you made a choice yet?! I’m also contemplating and need to make a decision soon: I love calcatta marble but I don’t want to freak over any wine spills etc. I was originally intrigued about quartz but I don’t like the engineered look. Good luck.

We settled on the Caesarstone in “Stone Gray”. It’s actually a quartz composite but this colourway has flecks and irregularities that mimic stone. We’re hoping anyways! I didn’t win the Carrera Marble battle for the kitchen countertops… so I’m moving my sites to the impending upstairs bathroom reno..

After only seven weeks of a gorgeous Caesarstone kitchen counter, it has three scratch/chips. One from a dropped crystal glass, one from a dropped plastic salt grinder, and an edge chip that is a mystery. On the strength of this, I would not recommend Caesarstone as a kitchen counter. (There are only two of us in the house, both adults, and we are not careless.)

Wow Molly- that doesn’t sound good! We’ve been using ours since mid March and haven’t had a single issue. We have 2 children who sit at the island to eat pretty much all of their meals and have done alot of entertaining. What style/ colour of Caesarstone did you go with? Maybe some are more sensitive than others.

I’m struggling with our kitchen counter choice as well. I don’t mind maintenance, but I am concerned about heat resistance (or lack of) with marble. I would love to hear from someone who has the carrera quartz and their impression of the manufactured look.

Hi there. Thankfully we have not had any chips thus far so have not had to do any research in this area. Sorry we can’t be more helpful.

We installed Caesarstone 11 months ago. An edge has simply opened up into a serious crack that is traveling into a V shape in the last three weeks, and is now 3/4 inch. We are so careful with our home, it seems to have just appeared. Caesarstone will not honor the warranty, which is up to their sole discretion. I don’t recommend this pricey experiment of a product. We have remodeled the house from top to bottom in the last two years, I’ve found Caesarstone the only product with inherent problems.

Has anyone had any issues of cracks appearing in their counter tops. I have heard stories where a pop was heard while the home owner was in the living room. She heard a pop and when she check out the kitchen she notice a crack in her countertop. Any ideas ???

Hi there
We have had a fantastic experience so far with our caesarstone counter. No cracking and no chips. Sorry, but I don’t have any ideas on how to help.

We will show you the advantages with marble vs caesarstone. Marble unlike any other stone or counter material will age gracefully with your kitchen and you will appreciate it with more and more use. Visit us and we will show you why.

I have had both Caesarstone and granite and I can tell you plainly that granite is harder and more heat resistant. You CANNOT put a hot pan on Caesarstone - it will leave a permanent ring. You CANNOT drop a glass on Caesarstone - it will chip and ding. Caesarstone is a fraud… more expensive than granite, beautiful, but about as durable as formica!!!

I have had Raven Caesarstone for just over a year….it is a nightmare. At first when it pitted the rep and the installer wouldn’t do a thing…now I can tell you it is such a mess…it looks like it implodes on a daily basis and you never know what you will get…..please dont buy this product….even though designers love it, bet they all have marble…..

Just to update everyone that we still LOVE our caesarstone. There seems to be a lot of varying opinion from people but I wanted to confirm that it continues to be a good choice for us.
