One step closer- our floors are finished

February 20th, 2008 · 1 Comment

We came home last night to a great sight- our finished hardwood floors. Capital Floors worked over the long weekend to accomodate us being able to get out of the house with the kids to escape the fumes. They sanded on last Thursday and began the staining process on Friday and varithaning on Saturday and Sunday. We went with the same medium dark brown stain as on the second floor and we love how warm it looks.

As mentioned previously it cost $5500 to lay the new oak floors and finish them and an additional $600 to sand and refinish our steps. We are planning on painting the risers and the spindles white but wanted to leave the steps the original hardwood.

Here are a few pictures:

Congratulations, that really looks amazing! I’m having a big headache these days too because of the flooring, it’s not that easy to decide which matches the most to your home and from practical aspect as well. Anyway, you’ve done great job and thanks for sharing this article.
