In search of light fixtures

January 5th, 2008 · No Comments

I went to a few places today to check out lighting options for over our dining room table, over our kitchen Island as well as the Front Foyer.

I first went to Aristocrat Ltd who specialize in custom orders. We’re thinking of a rectangular (3ft long x 10″ high x 8″ wide) shaped black linen light fixture with satin nickel hanging hardware and bottom panel diffuser for over the dining room table. The quote was very reasonable- $350 + tax and only a week to make!

Next I went to Sescolite and found a beautiful pendant light for over our Kitchen Island (I would hang 3 in a row). It’s called “Jazz” and is a European glass pendant made by Zaneen. It’s a cylindrical shape- the bottom half is frosted and the top half is clear. The sku # is JN536 if you want to take a peek at it on their website. Rather expensive at $334.95 each but stunning!

I then went to Union Lighting who had a great assortment of all different types of lighting. I found another beautiful pendant light for over the Kitchen Island- a clear blown glass pendant made in Italy for $323 (x 3).

I also found a rectangle shaped white linen light fixture with satin nickle trim for over the dining room table for $441.

All options would work beautifully and I’ll file them away for when we’re ready to purchase. Have to pay for the reno’s first!
