We returned home Sunday afternoon from Kirk’s parents cottage to find a beautiful carpet installed on the 3rd floor as well as lights and outlets working through most of the 2nd and 3rd floors. What joy! When undergoing this type of renovation you really need to celebrate each wonderful improvement as you never know what the next day will hold.

Kirk was the first to try out the shower first thing this morning before going to work. The guys working on the main floor gave me a shout to come downstairs to witness the shower that they in turn were receiving! The pipes that were exposed in the ceiling underneath the bathroom were totally leaking. No wonder the kitchen ceiling that was there before was bubbling with water damage! They placed a call to the plumber to come in and open the wall behind the shower to patch the pipes.

We also experienced some drain issues in the basement today. Trevor went downstairs to discover a very wet carpet all around the drain- it was backed up and needed de-clogging. Luckily the water didn’t reach all of the boxes and items that we’re storing down there.
