As we mentioned in a previous post we have been using J Romano Disposal Services for all of the garbage associated with the demolition. In all we went through three 14 yard bins for a total of about 9 tonnes of garbage. Hard on the environment but what can you do? Total cost was $371 per bin (including GST) so we spent $1113 in total.

To help you estimate your waste disposal cost here is what we put into three bins: carpet from the second and third floor (a total of about 1,000 square feet of carpet and underpad) and all of the lath and plaster, kitchen cupboards and full bathroom from the main floor (about 750 square feet).

Throughout the process J Romano’s was friendly, on-time, and their drivers were incredibly adept at getting the big truck into tight spots.
