Tiles for Kitchen Backsplash

November 7th, 2007 · 2 Comments

I had heard from a tiler that we had used to do our current downstairs bathroom that Tile City at Danforth and Main was a good place to check out for good quality, reasonably priced tiles. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but they do carry a wide range of tiles and are a distributor of Interstyle tiles.

I am looking for a glass or grey marble backsplash for the kitchen in an elongated subway style pattern. I’d also like for the tiles to be 3 different sizes in length and width. While I was there I saw this style out of travertine marble- someone had custom ordered it in and the cost was $25 per sq/ft. (Took 3 weeks to custom order) They are looking into the same style for me in the glass as well as grey marble. I hope to have quotes shortly.

In the meantime there are a number of other places that I am going to check out: Saltillo Imports, Tiles Plus, Olympia Tiles. We bought porcelain kitchen tiles for our last house from Olympia Tile- their showroom is fantastic.

Many tiles are in the market…with different-2 price…but one thing that is most important is its quality….You have to choose the good color match and its quality too….
