Great window website

November 2nd, 2007 · 2 Comments

I’ve been struggling with deciding which window and door styles to choose for the new house. Gentek, the manufacturer that we’re going through makes great quality windows however, their website and catalogue don’t do a good job with showcasing different styles. I’m a very visual person so I’ve found myself obsessively looking at the windows and doors of every house that I pass!

Much to my relief I came across a website called Loewen.com and they have a fabulous photo gallery of many different types of windows and doors. It’s really helped me narrow things down. We’ll meet with Spencer next week to go over our final selections.

We came across Inline Fiberglass at the Fall Home Show that offer a unique ‘Tilt & Turn’ mechanism for a window or door. The window or door tilts inward (into the house) allowing for ventilation without needing to open it entirely and is secure . If you view the gallery online you will get a better idea of how it works inlinefiberglass.com We liked this idea for our kitchen doors backing out to the deck and they swing out like french doors vs the usual sliding door. They are a manufacturer so you can buy direct. We’re currently waiting for a quote from them and will keep you posted.
