Architectural Salvage

November 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

I popped by The Door Store the other day and it’s really quite amazing. Not only do they sell Archtectural Antiques ie. salvaged doors, windows, fireplace mantels, hardware etc. but they also buy. There are a number of lovely items such as pocket doors, antique light fixtures etc. that will be coming out during the demo as we’re removing all interior walls and ceiling on the main floor.

You simply email them images of the items that you’d like to sell and they let you know whether or not they’re interested in purchasing

We really wanted to keep the original baseboards and window trim for the exterior walls but our contractor said that since we were removing all of the lathe and plaster and replacing with insulation and drywall that it would be impossible. There would be too much of a gap in between the two.
