I couldn’t let the carpeting issue go. I don’t know if you noticed from the house walk through pictures that it is less than appealing! Considering the size of the space (3rd floor bedrooms and staircase leading up to it) I knew that we had underestimated the budget allowance ($2500) however, I was determined to figure something out!

I found a great solution at Giant Carpet and Flooring. They carry a 50%wool/ 50% polypropolene blend (polypropolene is man made yet does not emit any chemicals or gases as nylon does) in a sisal style which they have on sale for $5.59 sq ft installed, including underpad.

Further to that they currently also have a save the gst event… AND I was able to get no payment without interest accumulation for 1 year! Since the sales people there are commission based I found them very motivated to help you walk out with a purchase.

Since we can’t get into the upstairs space until after the tenant leaves to have them measure, I overestimated the size for a quote. It came in at $5014 (includes the $55 finance set up fee). The price will be adjusted once we get in on Nov.7th and have accurate measurements taken. Installation will take place Nov.27th provided that the space is ready. They’re turn around time is great.
