The Kitchen is probably the most important room on the main floor (to us anyways). Timelines to have cabinetry made, countertops and appliances ordered etc. can take up to 12 weeks so we wanted to get started as soon as possible. To save time it’s helpful to have a general idea of the look of kitchen you’d like, location and square footage, anything special like an island, pantry, special drawers (pot drawers, drawer for garbage and recycling) before meeting with Kitchen Cabinetry companies. The budget that we’ve allocated for Cabinetry and countertops is $22,000.
The first company I met with was Altima Kitchens They’ve done some fabulous magazine worthy kitchens and I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed with what they had to offer. I met with Marco and he took me through the details of the type of cabinetry that they build and different layout possibilities. Lead time for cabinets are approximately 10 to 12 weeks. After this initial meeting Marco will put together a drawing of everything we discussed as well as provide me with a quote. The drawing will also detail where electrical and plumbing will need to go ( we can give this to our contractor).
